New Singers 2020-2021

We are thrilled to welcome a handful of new voices to the Phoenix Family for our 2020-2021 season: With One Voice.

The 2020-2021 choral season is unique globally, with ensembles of all shapes and sizes creatively finding ways to remain committed to our craft, while also safely sing in the midst of a pandemic. Like any of these groups, we had many questions about what a new season could look like, after ending our 2019-2020 so abruptly due to the virus and wondering the viability of singing from a distance from each other, which inevitably requires the integration of a virtual platform.

While encouraged by the new guidelines put out by the BC Centre for Disease Control this week, we remain cautious as we tread into this new territory; however, as we have said before, we remain committed to spreading joy through choral music and are eager for all of the beauty and innovation our With One Voice Season will hold.

Most of all, we are heartened by the fact that so many of our singers chose to trust us as we navigate these decisions–a true testament to the tight, familial bond of our group. Were even more pleased there was interest from prospective singers, despite the necessity of virtual auditions this year. We are excited to welcome new voices as the newest additions to the Phoenix Family.

Join us in welcoming:

Andrew is new to Vancouver as of this summer and is “excited to be part of such an ambitious and innovative group that won’t let a pandemic stand in the way of making music! Even if it has to look a little different.”
