Canadian Physician’s Virtual Choir – Video Release!

Over the last 2 months, over 200 physicians came together from all-across the country to create the first ever Canadian Physician’s Virtual Choir project, and we are elated to announce:

The video is now available!

Initially inspired by the work of Voices Rock Medicine, in Toronto, the Calgary Physician Choir, in Calgary, and Phoenix’s own Vox Panacea, in Vancouver; Phoenix Chamber Choir was honoured to take on the management and artistic direction of this project. Our Artistic Director, Nicholle Andrews, originally from Newfoundland and Labrador, was able to secure permissions for us to perform “Ordinary Day” by Great Big Sea, and even worked her magic to get some special guests to share their talents with the performance!

Part of Phoenix’s mandate is to give back to the community through cultivating charitable partners for all our projects. We are happy to announce that a portion of the proceeds from this project have been donated to the Dollar A Day Foundation.

The Dollar A Day Foundation has a simple mission: to provide adequate funding to frontline mental health and addictions programs across Canada. We fund frontline programs that support professionals in diagnosing and treating persons with mental illness and addictions in a timely and respectful manner regardless of politics, religion, gender, race, or ability to pay.

We encourage anyone who enjoys this video to learn more about the Dollar A Day Foundation and consider the impact that a single dollar can do in the hands of those equipped to directly support those who need it most.

Many thanks to our guest musicians: Alan Doyle (Great Big Sea), Romano DiNillo (Come From Away – Broadway), and Josh Ward (Hey Rosetta).
