The Longest Time – Quarantine Edition
We’ve been so overwhelmed and honoured by the attention, support and love that we received for our first video, that we decided to put together another one, but this time we brought some friends along!
Please enjoy our second COVID-19 public service announcement and virtual expression of love and solidarity from your ever-enthusiastic Phoenix Family and choral comrades.
Stay home! We’ve got this!
Special thanks to: Billy Joel for the original, Zach Timson and Nicholle Andrews for the new lyrics, Carolyn Shiau for the musical arrangement, Carolyn Shiau and Vaughn Chauvin for the video editing, and Brad Andrews for the sound mixing and editing! Your insight, musical, and technical work astounds us all.
Featuring singers from: University of Redlands Chapel Singers, Songcology by musica intima, Crescent Choirs, Da Camera Singers, Filles de l’île, Onoscatopoeia, Jubilate Vocal Ensemble, Quartom, Richmond Orchestra & Chorus, St. Mary’s Kerrisdale Church, Timbre! Choir, Vancouver Bach Choir, La Ceilagh Chamber Singers, and your very own Phoenix Chamber Choir.
We are so grateful for our ability to make music with the incredible choral community here in Vancouver, across BC and Canada, and with our neighbours to the south. Choirs are often non-profit organizations whose mission and survival revolves around their concert season. If you enjoyed this video, please consider donating to a local choir in your area, and come and take in a concert in person once we’re back in action. Your generosity will allow us to keep doing what we love.
