Thank you Graeme!

Under the direction of Dr. Langager, Phoenix Chamber Choir has: released 3 CD’s; placed 1st in Adult Chamber Choir Category, 1st in Contemporary Category, Best performance of a Canadian song in the Canadian Amateur Choir competition; performed at Podium 2016 (Edmonton); performed with Andrea Bocelli; the VSO; launched Chrysalis Vocal Ensemble; and most recently, completed an inspiring collaboration with Ballet BC for “Program 3”.

“Emily Molnar’s (artistic director at Ballet BC) piece was entitled “When You Left”, hauntingly accompanied by the Phoenix Chamber Choir performing Peteris Vask’s ‘Plainscapes’. Without any exaggeration the vocals were exquisite, filling the auditorium with a spine-tingling crystal clear resonance.” -MG (Vancouver Arts Review).

The Phoenix Vocal and Performing Society would like to thank Dr. Graeme Langager for 6 amazing seasons of leadership, artistry, and passion. The sold-out concert, This House of Peace, on May 26th, was an incredible celebration to end our 35th season, and our last concert with Dr. Langager as Artistic Director. We wish him all the best in his future endeavours.

As one audience member described: “This House of Peace was the most beautiful, transcendent sound I have ever heard from a choir, mesmerizing! The deep baritones were incredible – many voices, attuned as one organic instrument under the hand of Graeme Langager – Thank you” -KT
