Auditions

Auditions

Thank you for your interest in auditioning for the Phoenix Chamber Choir!

Auditions for the 2021-2022 Season are now complete and all openings are currently filled; however we continue to accept audition tapes on an ongoing basis, as we maintain an active sub list in case a singer needs to pull out for any reason during the season.

What to prepare

Singers are asked to submit a video of yourself singing two contrasting pieces in your preferred vocal range and style, one of which is in a language other than English. Please also introduce yourself and let us know a bit about why you would like to sing with Phoenix.

Please record yourself so that your torso and head are visible in the frame, and ensure that you have configured your microphone settings so that you can sing a fully supported sound without maxing out your input. (Feel free to email us if you don’t know how to do this!)

Once we have reviewed your video submission, successful applicants will be asked to sign up for a time to have a video-conference with our Artistic Director, Nicholle Andrews, as well as our Assistant Conductor, Dave Rosborough. This will be an opportunity to get to know a bit more about you and your choral background/experience, discuss our plans for the upcoming season, and any questions that you might have.

How do I sign up?

Please email your video to our administrator with “Audition Video” in the subject line. If you have a musical CV, please also include it in the email.

We are currently accepting videos on a rolling basis for a place on our substitute list. We hold auditions for any full-time singer placements annually in June.

If you have any questions or concerns about creating your audition video, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us!
